Traditional forms of medical education face a number of challenges related to adequate staffing and shared use of microscopes. As technology advancements begin to allow for the practical use of digital microscopy in the classroom, many institutions have begun to explore the benefits of digital microscopy implementation.
Enhancing clinical laboratory education using digital microscopy
In this webinar, Heather Worthington of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) discusses how she has incorporated digital microscopy alongside conventional microscopy in the classroom. Digital microscopy with Panoptiq™ has allowed NAIT to adopt a 'flipped-classroom' approach to learning and move core components of the curriculum, such as clinical skills assessment, entirely online. In her presentation, Heather reviews the impact digital microscopy has had on the student experience in Histology and discusses key lessons learned during implementation.
